volt gauge down

hello, i have noticed something the other day that i never saw before and i dont know if it is normal. that weather has been pretty cold around my neck of the woods (-14F) and my psd fires right up no problem. i know the plugs cycle for a coule of min and my volt guage shows this and then it will jump up to the normal area after the cycle is done. anyways the last couple of times i started my truck i go back into the house and then come out say 5-10 min later to leave, the engine is revving to the moon to warm up and when i jumped in the cab, i noticed that the volt guage is way down in the same spot it is when the plugs are cycling. but when i touch the brake to shut the high idle down the guage jumps to where it should be. now does this sound normal or not, i have never seen it before (or noticed it until now). hope this makes sense what i sain, any questions you want to ask or info i missed let me know.

I can't explain why the guage would be down when the truck is in high idle, but as long as it comes back to mormal, I wouldn't be terribly concerned about it.
