JL Audio Stealthbox

I am a new owner of an '01 Ex lmtd. V-10 and I am in search of anyone that has heard or owns the JL Audio Stealthox that fits into the center console housing one 10" sub. If you own or have heard this enclosure PLEASE let me know what you think about it. I have to find a way to fit a sub or 3 into this thing STEALTH. I've thought about the rear doors, really wanted to try the inside of the spare and then I found this enclosure from JL. It looks like it may work but I think it would take some getting used to the sub being there instead of the rear where my ears think it should be. If it's not painstakingly obvious that the sub is right next to me and the sound travels well throughout the vehicle then I might be fine with it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Jon

I have a 2000 Ex and I've been there brother. I ended up having a custom box built. It sits between the 2nd and 3rd row seats. Granted it makes the third row seat unusable for all but small children, but it does house 2 10" subs. My amps are under the 2nd row seat; makes connections really simple.

I could take a few pics if you're interested.

I had a 10" kenwood in the center console of my old 94 F150 supercab. It actually sound very nice. It was firing toward the rear. Not the same truck, but it does sound pretty darn good. I too am looking to hide some subs in my EX. Where did you find the one that fits in the console?

Groundrat, I actually found this enclosure on JL Audio's website, link below. I really, really don't want to use any cargo room, odds are I'll never need to remove the third row seat and fold the second row flat but as you may already know, the second I install a box or something back there I'll have to.

mcjones44us, It sounds interesting, almost what I'm looking for, still alot better than my first idea. After seeing an Excursion in the latest DUB Magazine(I know, I know), there was an Excursion in there that had 26" wheels and had 3 count 'em three 10" JL's IN the spare in the factory location. Talk about ideas shooting off in your head, I was going nuts because that's exactly what I'd been looking for..... And then I realized that his SPARE was also a 26" wheel, duh, glad I didn't already buy the materials on that one . Anyway, I looked at the spare briefly and if I did a little rearranging I could MAYBE fit one 10" or 12" inside the factory spare but that would have to be it, and remember I didn't say it would fit for sure.

Thanks for the replies and please still send any and all ideas as this is something I am in no rush to make a decision. Oh, and if for some reason I come up with something, I'll let you know!
