I just had my truck in the shop for a varity of rutine mant. 97 f-350, psd,cc, 4x4 e40d. I had tham run the engine codes even though I did not have any lights or warnings. thay came up with a "cam Postion code" What dose this mean and whay can i do about it. Thanks to any one. J
Since im new to diesels im not that smart about them, but there are plenty of guys who knows what it is. i remember someone telling me what it is, i think its a sensor on the cam and when it detects that something isnt running right, it shuts it down so you dont damage the engine, as for where it is and if its hard to replace, im not sure, but i think its located more towards the back of the engine.
wheres kwik? i think he explained it in another post
Go to FAQ at the top of the forum, it is really simple to do, but I would suggest getting an ebay, or navistar sensor. The ford sensors are outragously priced compared to those two options.
I tryed searching up in FAQ but could not get any hits, could anyone here help me out on how to put a new one in? J
its on the front of the motor to the left can miss it easier to see if you get under truck. has a wiring harness and 1 10mm bolt i believe should take you all of 10 minutes even if you arent mech inclined. international told me a cps was $100 the other day. see them up for auction for $60 all the time nd probably $200+ at ford i would imagine.
