How many have tried Both
I currently use the Predator for towing and I have experianced no problems
at all except when I get into the throttle and then suddenly back off, the shifting of the tranny feels soft. I am considering getting a Superchips 1704
tuner. Who has tried both and how did the two compare.

I've only used the Predator myself and absolutey love the power but have the same issue of a strange shift after coming off trottle. You might look at some of user PSD 60L Fx4's comments concerning the SCMT. He prefers it because of the more improved shifting as the Predator momentarily defuels prior to WOT shifts. Its that kinda' pause/stutter before some shifts. Talked extensively w/ him on the phone and he said the Predator almost felt stronger but it was far outweighed by the improved shifting and overall performance of the SCMT. He runs some custom stuff now but spoke highly of the SCMT. BTW, PSD if you're out there, please correct my comments if I misquoted. I'm probably getting ready to speak w/ our trusty sponsor and order the 1704 to try for myself. Hope this helps, Amp.
