Cluster Gremlins

Couple of questions on my gage cluster for an 86 F250 6.9L
1.) When the under hood temps are high (AZ weather & towing) the oil, fuel and engine temp gages go to maximum (pegged off the scale) at the same time... then when under hood temps cool off all gages go back to normal. I put in a real temp gage (under dash mount) and of course it is steady. Any thoughts?

2.) The battery voltage gage was never connected from the Ford factory; I did some reading on this and it appears there is a different voltage regulator that has a terminal for this gage... but its not the correct p/n for the truck, and there is no wiring for this gage behind the cluster either. Thoughts?

I have a 90 7.3. My gauges were acting up over the summer. It turned out to be the instrument voltage regulator on the back of the dash. Sorry I can't help you with the battery voltage gauge. Good luck with it.

You might try the electrical forum for info on the battery voltage gauge.

Thanks for the info... I did check the electrical forum and found info on the rising gage issue. Either poor grounding or the instrument regulator.

Also posted a ? for the voltage gage.
Thanks much for your help.
