superchip tuner mod question?

I was just curious. I have a 04 fx4 supercrew with 5.4 and was wondering what program I should install on truck with superchip. I don't do alot of towing with truck and if I do it's only a motorcycle or four wheeler on trailer. I have stock wheels and plan on getting new tires and rims later in the future. But for now I am also installing the aem brute force air intake along with a borla duel exhaust. The guys who have the superchip tuner, What program do you think would be the best for this truck?

I'd try the 87 octane program 1st

I have a FX4 SCAB with the 5.4. I'm on my 4th tank of fuel with the Superchips 1714 tuner. The first two tanks I ran the 87 octane program. Both tanks were good for ~15.5 MPG of mixed driving. My third tank I ran the 91 octane program (no tow) with 93 octane fuel. I just refilled, and calculated ~14.8 MPG. I was hoping that the 91 octane program would give me enough increased mileage to offset the $ of premium. It has not so far. I do have to admit that the last tank of fuel was used during the cold snap we had on the east coast, and it was mostly city driving. I'm goging to run another tank of premium and see if it gets any better.

My advice is for you to run a tank or two with the 87 octane program, then step up to the 91. I actually didn't feel a huge difference between the two programs. I do love the tuner - better shifting and no throttle delay.

Just make sure that when you change to the 91 octane program you run your tank almost empty when you refuel with 91 octane fuel (with 93 octane you don't need to go as low).

Almost forgot - Superchips considers any tow weight below 4,000 lbs to be suitable for the performance (91) octane tune, so you should be fine with your toys on your trailer.
