When's the last time you changed the fuel filter and washed the air filter ? How about the oil , PSDs love fresh oil . Are you leaking fuel ? I'll agree your millage sucks !

Are your hubs locked in? That could be causing extra drag.

I have heard from others on this forum that when they switch over to winter fuel, it will decrease your mileage. I know I have dropped from 21 mpg to about 16 mpg (freeway) since the switch. You could try adding a fuel additive. I use Diesel kleen (white bottle) and it boosts my cetane level 4 points, which I imagine helps a bit. I also try and keep my RPMs below 2000 on all but my 1 to 2 gear shifts. Good luck.

Mine did the same thing , kind of a shock when you're use to getting 18/20 mpg and it all of a sudden drops to 16 !! palajoe , did you notice an increase in mpg when you started useing the DK ?

I have been using the DK since I got the truck in Nov, but the few times I haven't used it I noticed a 4 mpg drop from 21 to 18. Even with the cost of the DK, I figure I'm still coming out ahead with the mpg improvement. Just from looking at the jug of DK, I notice the white bottle only boosts 4 points where the grey bottle boosts a max of 6 points. But the white has the anti-gell additive so that is what I'll use until Spring.

That's a pretty good increase in milleage . I'm not concerned with fuel jelling though ( today it was 75 degrees ! ) . We're suppose to be near 80 by the end of the week .

If you are leaking fuel that could be a big part of the problem . There are a couple of things that could leak fuel into the "valley" , fuel pump , filter regulator , vacume sensor and fuel lines . You could be leaking more fuel than you realize .
