Spark plug or coil for #6 cylinder is where I would start, just hope I don't have to!

richjesus1,

Tim welcomed you but let me do so also.

Welcome to FTE! I know you can get any of your questions about the Expedition answered here. We've got an incredible group of users here, so don't hesitate to ask!

Hope you keep postin'!

Now...on to your question and my .02

Since you just changed the plugs why don't you make sure the COP is fully seated and the wire isn't loose or frayed. The COP may be cracked, too.

They're fairly cheap. You can always buy one and swap it out to see if it eliminates the CE light & rough running.

BTW, which engine? The 4.6 was standard on the EB for a few years. 1997-1999 4.6 engines are not COP.

Interesting.. I had the same symptoms yesterday and changed fuel filter, cleaned MAF and throttle body to no avail. Brought to dealer and it's the Coil pack and #2 cylinder plug...$350.00

I would replace the #6 coil (this is the second one back from the front on the drivers side), luckily the #6 is one of the easiest and should only take about 10 minutes to swap out. The coils are about $60 at any auto parts store. I would try to fix it yourself as dealers seem to be real proud of their work when it comes to replacing coils.
