Cool help with drive shaft

i have a 04 f-350 5.4l 4x4 reg cab, auto trans. i want to put a 4" lift. the driveshaft is a one piece with a slip yoke at the rear towards the axle. :NO CARRIER BEARING: [ i found what drive shaft it is. DOUBLE CARDEN DRIVE SHAFT WITH SPLINE BOOT AT REAR SHAFT WITH SINGLE U-JOINT] will it pull out to much to work or do i need a new driveshaft made. THANKS

dude go for the lift.. not having a carrier bearing is a blessing!!.... do the lift... Worse case senerio is you have to have your driveshaft lengthened, which any decent drive shaft shop will do for $100.... If the kit that you get for your lift uses "tapered" blocks to lift the rear 4" then the tapper makes up from most the lift effect and keeps your driveshaft the same lenght as it rotates the axle a bit... i just switced from the stock 2" block(1 1/2" actual measurement) .. to an aftermarket 3" tappered block.. to gain 1 1/2 " of rear lift, i had marked my driveline and it came back to the exact mark.. so the tapper made up for 1 1/2" of lift at the driveline.. does that make sense...... get the tappered block or have your driveshaft exteneded..... belive me both those options are better then messing around with the carrier bearing.. many like me have paid $100s of dollars to get a one-peice built.. you luck dog your truck already came with one!

Man - you don't know how lucky you are. A few SD's come from the factory with double carden shafts in them Excursions, 250's, there's no pattern. If there was a code to order a double carden shaft it would be a blessing. Your truck should lift no problem at all with the DC shaft.
