Smile what is it?

power booster hose is going to it, then there is a hose going from it towards the back of the motor. It is threaded into the thing that the carb is bolted onto. three openings on top, 1 of which is plugged. 2 openings on the bottom, that i hve plugged up now because there is gas dripping out of them when i try to start the engine. what to do? I dont have my manual available right now.
79 f-150 79,000 miles . new carb thanks

Your float might be sticking. Try giving the carb a light tap.

looks something like this?

it's a spacer block with a EGR on it. If you had holes unplugged, you had some serious vacuum loss which would really affect gas usage! I understand spacer blocks off of big (F350 and up) trucks didn't have the emmision stuff on them, hence fewer holes to plug.
