emissions!!!!!!
i have an 86 f250 with a 400 in it. its not the original motor. i need to get it to pass emissions when the time comes! im planning on putting cats on it but all the other things the egr valve i dont have....... if you have any suggestions on how to get it to pass please tell me... and also without the cats if its possible.

What state are you trying to pass emissions in? If you are in CA, you will definitly needs cats. You will probably also need EGR, at least to pass the visual inspection.
My 75 won't pass without the stock air cleaner/preheat hose and the smog pump has to be working correctly, but it didn't come with cats.
Most other states, as long as its tuned up and running well, you will probably be OK.
