Greetings! I just registered with FTE this morning & am looking forward to the hands-on expertise of this group. I bought a 79 F250 last week. 400/C-6/NP235/Dana 44 front/Dana 60 rear. The truck had sat for 2+ years before the owner decided to sell it. As a result, the brake lines had rusted out. I put in 3/16" lines without a problem, but I found out last night that the front brakes are metric. Is this normal, or have I just found my first "non-stock" modification with this truck?
EDIT: I forgot to clarify. The 3/16" brake lines went into the rear end without a problem. That's why the metric front brakes are confusing me. Doesn't make sense...
they are not metric but some of the proportioning valve fittings are not 3/16" line size (3/8-24)
I beleive some of them are 1/4" line size (7/16-24) and one of them is master clyinder sized (1/2-20)
all the lines are 3/16" though.

Welcome to the only family Ford Truck site, on the net. If you have a minute check out the Guidelines, it will help you to navigate through FTE.
Enjoy FTE we are happy to have you on board!~
See my article in the tech forums about installing high performance brake stuff...the brake system is an amazing mixture of SAE and metric fasteners. Not only that, but some of the sizes are rather unusual, too...like an 18mm bolt that NO SAE wrench fits quite right...
Maybe you all can help. I've got an '03 f-150 supercab fx4 w/ 33-12.50r17 Mickey Thompson baja claws. I want to go bigger but I can't find a complete suspension lift kit anywhere, everybody just offers leveling kits for the '03. I can however find kits for the '02 is there a difference? If so where can I find a complete kit at a reasonable price? Thanks.
