Stalling

My early 99' stalled while coasting down a steep hill. The check engine light came on and I lost all power. All gauges read normal, everything sounded/felt fine. I was on a long downhill when the truck stalled. I am very concerned with this since it could happen with a Bobcat 337 behind me. Any ideas on what it could be? After a few swear words and some head scratching, it started right up. I drove the next 550 miles tense, but without any problems. If important, it was snow/sleet and about 31*.

If you can get the computer scaned it may have a code stored that may tell you something . Could also be the CPS trying to tell you it's going bad ( buy a spare and keep it in the truck ) . Intermitent problems are hard to diagnose .

If you want to buy a spare cps, find an International truck dealer, could save you some bucks. I've carried a spare for two years and haven't used it yet (-$100.00). another possible problem could be fuel, dirty filter etc. Might get your fuel filters at Speedco and save some more $$ ($11.00)..
