I never knew
that disconnecting the negative battery cable for a period of time re-sets the computer? Anyway, I was reading through some other posts in other folders and stumbled across this. I've been having what I thought was transmission issues because of shifting by itself, taking a while to shift, etc. It's been in the shop and everything. I put 285's and a magna-flow exhaust on over a year ago and never reset the computer. After reading this post, I thought what the heck and tried it. OMG, unbelievable, the truck is running 100% better. Shifting quicker, firmer, etc. and already seen an increase in mpg. Just wanted to make sure everyone else knew this but most of all to say, thank you FTE. What a great, informative site!!
