Running too rich !
Wormshoe here....
I need some help. (1989 F-150 5.0 5 spd.) I installed a new ignition module yesterday. That's all that I did. The truck runs much better, BUT my fuel mixture h
as gone rich. You can smell it big time ! I have checked my fuel pressure at the rail (40 psi). The engine idles rough. (It's never done that before.) I have checked all of the vacumn line connections.
The 'Check Engine' light has turned on. Does anyone have any idea what has happened to my truck ? I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

Pull the codes - the check engine light is telling you something. http://fordfuelinjection.com has a list of instructions on how to pull the codes if you have never pulled them before. Let us know what codes come up.
