1999 F-250 security system

Well my big Ford might as well be a giant paper weight. Don't know what happened, but the security system has the engine locked out. Towed it to the local Ford store, and they don't know how to fix it. Anyone know if the security system can be removed? I believe it uses the pats2 system.

2 days at the dealer and it still won't run. Makes me wonder where they get these mechanics. They keep telling me they are waiting for a phone call. I'll give them till close of business Monday, then I'm towing it home. Bet I got a minimum of a $500 bill and they have done nothing.

I'm not sure if this will help but I know some ford keys have a security chip in them and when another key(spare key from a hardware store) is put in it will not recognize the spare and locks it out, basically what I am saying is to use the orgiginal key

If the theft light on the dash is flashing the system is tripped,to reset it use a known good key leave key all the way forward 5-15 min when light stops blinking, its reset and should start.

Hey, they did fix it after all. Simply ran a new wire to the starter to bypass the security system. Thanks for the replies.
