I have a 1993 Ford Ranger Short Bed. I was looking into getting a tonneau cover for it. What tonneau covers would you suggest. I am looking to spend around $200 or a little more. I would like a hard cover but a soft cover will do. Thanks very much.

Welcome to the forum! Too bad you are not near me, I have a hard tanneau off my old Ranger flairside that I'd sell at about half price.
Dono
i just had a access roll up installed on my 96 extcab for $453.54
so far i like it. but i have to take it back and have them lift it just a hair
so my tail gate will close without hitting it.
I have a "la Bra" brand on mine, soft cover. Paid $200 plus tax at AutoZone. I've had guys tell me they don't open their cover when it's cold because they can't close the snaps. Mine has a groove instead of snaps and it works well in hot or cold weather. It's really a nice cover. Took about a half hour to install!!
I have the Extang Black Max on my 2004 Edge and its been great! Has snaps all the way around and positions for the snaps for cold weather as well as Hot....living in the Northwest I see alot of rain and cooler weather. I paid $179 for mine so that would fit your price range and it only took me about 30 minutes to put it on.
I found a soft tonneau cover for my 97 Ranger at K-mart, when they were closing down some of the stores in my area. Paid 80 bucks for it, and it has the groove railing that you slide the edge down in.
It stayed on until I found a fiberglass camper shell in a local trader magazine. The guy I bought it from had it listed for $175 but he wanted it out of his front yard so badly, he said if I'd take it while I was there, he'd let me have it for $150 and he'd help me put it on my truck. SOLD!
Rolled the soft cover up. Placed it in a closet and now run with the fiberglass camper shell. Absolutely love it!
I have the Extang FREEDOM on my 2004 Edge and its been great! Has snaps all the way around and positions for the snaps for cold weather as well as Hot....living in the Northwest I see alot of rain and cooler weather. I paid $175 ,FREE SHIPPING FROM EXOTIC TRUCK AND AUTO GEAR ON EBAY and it only took me about 30 minutes to put it on. I'VE TRIED MANY VINYL TRAETMENTS FOR THIS COVER AND THE ONLY ONE THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND IS "FREEDOM TONNO TONIC" that Extang sells. It lasts a long time and holds up great under uv rays, rain and snow. It is lower priced and a little goes a long ways.
What about new snaps? Has anyone been able to buy them separately? I've got a dealer-installed Motorcraft tonneau on my F-150 (with the composite, not metal, snaps) and they are starting to wear out and not stay snapped. If I could just get the snap kit, I could save $200 and not buy a new one. Has anyone seen them? Or do you have a cover that's been destroyed and are willing to sell your snaps?

Check it out! I love it, and to me it was worth the extra money. It's super handy. Pop it open, throw your stuff in there, shut it, latch it and go. It's like having a hatchback. It's lightweight and easy to remove for big loads. It also rolls up for unexpected large loads. Piece o' cake.

I also have the extang freedom on my 99 ranger. I really love it, super easy to install and seems durable. I've only had it for about 3 months now but it works great. had it in -30*C temps and it held up great. I'm on the westcoast so it's allready seen it's fair share of rain and I've never had a drop of water in the bed. Paid $135.00 Canadian for it, couldn't beat that price.
