electrical problems

accidentally left my window open and yay! it started to rain, just noticed my door interior being wet though. However, when i start my truck, with the lights switched off, their is a glow coming from the lights, it only does this when it is running, not with the key turned over and the engine not running. and when i turn on the headlights, the car stalls and there is a small glow from the brights indicator. the gas gauge also just started reading a full tank at 300 miles, im kinda doubting that accurate, does anyone know possible locations for this short? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Just guessing here, but you may have water puddled around your fuse box, which is under the dash next to the door. Let it dry out (warm garage) and see if your problems go away. Normally, without water issues, when headlights glow dimly, it's a grounding problem. Look around the area for any grounding studs and make sure there's a good contact. On my 90, there's a lever for lowering the fuse box for easier access...perhaps a little compressed air here might help dry it out.

good luck.

also what could cause them only to glow when the engine is running, i noticed that when i just have the key all the way on with the engine off, theyre fine, only does it when the engines running.
