4x4 not workin
i have a 2000 f-250 sd with psd 6 spd mnl trans. my truck only has the 4x4 switch on the dash. the hubs have no way to be manually locked. so i turn the switch to 4h put the truck in gear and the front wheels won't drive. i can hear the 4x4 kick in. so i had my wife get in and do the same thing while i looked under the truck to see whats turnin and whats not. everything was turning except for the front wheels. so i was thinkin that the hub might be bad. if they are what do i replace these hubs with? i called my local f dealer and was given a price of about 250.00ea. what do i do? i have also read that to install manuall hubs on my truck i'll need a kit of some kind for this swap. also are there any online manuals and diagrams that i might be able to use during my repair? this is my 1st time@fte so can someone please help me?

The conversion to manuals is pretty simple. The kit has everything that is needed generally. First verify that you don't have a vacuum leak, or a kink in a line. I believe that is what engages the front hubs.

Can't say if you do or don't need a conversion kit, that will be for the parts counter on my x ploder it was only a different nut and spacer. As for the vacuum line look down at the axle near the spindle to start
