I have a new Ford Escape. I have broken the passenger side mirror. I have picked up the mirror to try and replace myself. Can someone give me a heads up on how this should be carried out.

If they are similiar to the Ranger's you take the passenger door interior trim panel off for access to the bolts that hold it to the door and electrical harness removal.
Yes, per the Chilton manual you have to remove the interior panel. After you remove the screws, be careful/take your time in popping out the retaining clips. They're Ford unique and if you break one, you'll have to buy a package at the dealership. There's a tool made for removing the clips (available at auto part stores) or you can use a long screw driver (wrap the tip with duck tape to prevent scratching).
