noises at 55
I need some help! I have a 98 F150 4.6L 5 speed with about 60K miles. The truck runs great and I have never had any problems except a whinning noise that starts at about 55 mph and stops around 65 or 70 mph. It doesnt matter what gear I am in (4th or OD) or whether I push the clutch in or tap the brakes or what the engine rpms are or what the road surface is the noise is still there. It seems to go away after I have been driving more than 50 miles. The noise does not seem to effect performance at all and it is not real loud (if I turn up the radio a little I can not hear it). Like I said, the truck drives great and I have had no other problems other than the noise. Any idea of what it might be would be helpful.
