Something to watch out for
Watch out for this guys:
I hadnt checked the spare since I bought the truck so I took it off to see what kind of condition it was in, good thing I did. The Tire is new, the stubs and strip of rubber from the mold are still there so the tire has had no serious use if any. But on the back side, the side against the bed there is some severe damage. The guy before me must have tightened down the tire too tight. The frame cut into the tire in about 12 places, tire for a new spare. Good think I checked rather then have a blow out when i needed it.

Mine is very similar, but not quite as deep. I've had it checked and they told me it was fine... I've blown two tires since and each time I replaced it with the spare that has those marks on it and drove it until SAM's Club ordered a replacement, about 500 miles each time. The marked spare never gave me issues. But again, mine only went through the outer wall, not as deep as yours. Good thing you checked!
