Overdrive question

I have a V10 in my '00 X and I cannot control the overdrive. If you start the truck it will be on or off at random. If it is off and you tilt the steering wheel down it might or might not come on. If you turn the engine off and restart it usually the light will go off, but there is no gaurantee. The button doesn't work either. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like a broken wire.

You can pry the end of the gear shift off to access the Overdrive button wires and light.

Many reports of the wire getting frayed.
