transmission temp gauge install??
i'm installing a trans temp gauge in my truck where do u thread the sensor into the tranny is there a factory location or is there custom fabrication needed????

Depends upon the gauge I guess. My X-Monitor came with instructions for connecting to a wire in a connector near the Driver's side battery.
I've seen posts though about users installing thermocouples in the tranny itself.

I have autometer gauges and put the sensor in the port on drivers side of trans just above the pan. Screwed out plug and screwed in the sensor. It is a port that is used to check trans pressures manually. I think I have a picture of it in my gallery.

gauge kit should have a 1/8 NPT thread that will screw directly into the test port,,
may want to run the drivers side (both wheels) up on some ramps and minimal tranny fluid will leak out when ya pull the plug,,
