Just wanted to thank everyone who has posted and answered on this forum. I have an 82 Stepside with a 300 in it that was repalced with a good running 83 300 from another one of my trucks. I hired a guy to swap the engines and after it was done the truck was backfiring. He claimed it was not his fault and left me with a backfiring truck. After a half an hour of searching this site last night, I gathered enough info and fixed the problem in 10 minutes. So, just a quick but big thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge.
