I personally would go with the Ridgid. I believe they are made by chicago elec. the same company that USED to make craftsman power tools (when they were well built). Dewalt is just high priced black& decker. when you go to Homedepot check to see if they have any "reconditioned" units, what they usually are is a tool some weekend warrior bought for a job and returned when they were done. About 2/3 the regular price w/full warrenty. Greg

I was told that the old rigid, grey tools, were made by Emmerson, the same company that made craftsman a dacade or so ago. But this was from a home depot employee, who seem to know what they're talking about, about as much as my 2 year old.
