Buyers Jitters!!
I just signed papers on a 99 F150 V8 (5.4L) 4 Door Ext. Cab 4x4 automatic last night... I've been searching for a four wheel drive vehicle with some towing capacity and Ford F150's kept popping up as the suggested vehicle. After one month of looking.. I found this one. Decent amount of miles (122,XXX) but in overall great shape, looks almost new inside some minor love scratches on the exterior.
However, as any used car buyer will attest... I've been having a bit of "buyers remorse" since leaving the dealership last night... and I'm of course wondering if I made a good decision or should have held out for something better. Although I talked them down about 2,200 bucks off what they were asking (which was below dealer retail for KBB and Edmunds)... I guess I'm just a little worried... that will pass as soon as I pick it up on Wednesday I'm sure.
I had a 91' Ford Ranger XLT for a few years and racked up 230k on it... and only got rid of it because it wouldn't pass Virginia inspection (mechanically the engine was running great). I'm hoping to get at least that out of this truck with lots of love and care.
So that's my intro... I'm now back to driving a truck after a short stint with a VW Jetta (never EVER again... it was a momentary lapse of reason...)
Anyway, looks like you have a great group and I look forward to learning a lot!
