Desktop Dyno question
Got a couple questions for the experts.
1. What intake does the Edebrock Performer correspond to?
2. What is an example of a "double plane, high torque" intake?
Selecting a "double plane, high torque" intake seems to make a huge impact.
3. Changing displacement doesn't seem to have a big impact. I've been playing with various stroker combo's for my 390, but the increases in hp/torque seem insignificant. Perhaps I am missing something? All else being equal, I would have expected a near 1 to 1 increase in hp/torque for every 1 cubic inch increase in displacement.
Thanks.
You wont see any more hp with displacement, to a point. Your horsepower is made with head flow, cam timing, and compression. All you do when you increase displacement is increase torque. The heads and cam stop flowing sooner, so the usable RPM range goes down, and with the increased torque the HP stays the same.
