Exclamation Help! P-1212

Hey guy's, heres the problem. I just finished installing my highpreasure crossover hose, started the truck, looked for any leaks, then it died. I figured no big deal, maybe lost it's prime. But then after several attempts to start it, nothing. Grabbed my SCMT and have code 1212 show up. clear it, try to start several more times and still nothing. What next?

Code is for ICP voltage not at expected level. Check all connectors and pins.

No leaks, Don't know about checking the HPOP level, sounds like the fuel pump cycles, and the tach does move when cranking.

Center of engine, front, remove cover, remove plug in top. Should not be lower than one inch from top. Add as necessary.

The black cap is the fuel filter. Directly forward of that is a large aluminum reservoir. Remove the small plug on the top of the reservoir and look inside to see where the oil level is.

If you did not mess with the ICP sensor plug while installing the crossover line, then I'd bet you have air in the HPO rail and there is a bubble under the ICP. Try unplugging the ICP and see if it'll start.

Thanks cookie, if it starts, do I plug the sensor back in while it's running?

No. Let it run for a bit to get the air cleared, then shut it off before you plug it in.

Still won't start, batteries are getting low, and I got to leave for work in 10 hours. Oil level in the HPOP is about right from what I read, plenty of fuel in the filter resevoir, tach moving so I guess the cps is working. All of this fun to add a mod.

If there are no oil leaks anywhere, I would revisit this train of thought VEEERRYY thoroughly.

Well I went out this morning, turned the key before hoping in the Ranger, and she fired up! sputtered like there were a couple of injectors not firing, then cleared up. Thanks for the help guy's. I just learned a lot of info on the powerstroke fuel injection which I previously didn't know. That's what it's all about anyhow, right?
