reverse light connection

The connection for my backup light has become disconnected at the tranny. It is hanging down next to the front drive shaft. I have removed the rubber boots from both the sticks and can't see where it connects. I have felt around with my hands no luck. Where is the reciever for this plug?
Happy new year

Look on the drivers side up on top of the tranny towards the rear. If the tranny is very greasy you may have to scrape to find it. This is for a 4-speed,you didn't say what kind of transmission it had.

It is 4 speed maual in a 77 f250, having trouble getting my hands between the tranny and the floor. Just cannot feel the two prongs up there and wanted to know where they are before I draw any more blood from the back of my hand, Thanks for the reply

The connection is on the left side of the transmission near the top, if it's a NP435. If you take the transmission access plate off,(the hump between the floor pans) you'll be able to plug it back in. You just have to take out about a dozen screws, then pull the panel upwards.

Good luck!
