My '87 F250 had yellow/clouded headlight enclosures and I picked up a couple of clearer ones from a junkyard. Now they are discoloring. Are there any GLASS ones out there instead of the junk plastic ones that will replace them?
I believe I saw a post or two on here where some guys were cleaning their plastic lenses. You might do a search and see if you can find the post with the details. Also I saw a headlight cleaning kit on toolsource.com, I believe, but it was like $80 and did 20 or 30 headlights.
Generally, yellowing is just on the outside of the headlight.
You can use high grit wet sandpaper and actually sand them perfectly clear again.
You need to use wet sandpaper in the over 1200 grit range, anything less will leave scratches. Finish up with 2000 grit or so. Once you are finished sanding, use a buffing wheel/compound and they should stay clear for quite some time... probably even look better than they did new
Just make sure you keep the headlight wet at all times while sanding.
