Since it has already been demonstrated ad nauseum that comparing the two trucks is indeed more like comparing carrots and bulldozers, I will stay out of that can of worms.
What I will say, especially in the context of this debate, is that you have to make the decision on your own. You will have to be objective and determine which truck you need now, as well as which you may need in the forseeable future. Nobody here has the wisdom to tell you which truck that is.
I've had my '05 Tundra double cab for one month now and am very happy with it. I was going to get a F-150 but after I read and experienced (thru test drives) the vibration issues, I went with the Tundra. My neighbor also traded in his '04 F-150 after numerous trips to the dealer didn't solve his vibes.
It drives like a lexus and the 282 hp engine will beat the 300hp Ford engine because the Tundra is ~600lbs lighter. It is very solid. Nice 5 speed tranny too.
If I wanted to haul heavy stuff then I would get the Ford 250. It's not really fair to compare the Tundra to the 250. For comfort and weekend Home Depot runs the Tundra is it. But, the big draw is reliability and longevity.

New for 05 is the 282hp, that is nice as the old engine was a little anemic. Also, when Tundra's get about 20K on them they run alot better, break in.
Toyota would not have such a general rep for reliability if there was nothing to back it up. They have their problems, but overall they are exceptionally reliable vehicles, I've owned several. Had a 4runner with 268K and still ran great. I have a Bronco now and I like it, but I think Toyota does better with major components, tranny's etc.
Uh fisher is not reliable. He did not do anything for us in the 2003-2004 playoff,,,member detroit..u member...and look at the DIESEL SHAQ...still going strong...
