Dusted turbo??

How do I check to see if a turbo/ engine has been dammaged by a cracked air box?
Ive head that you can look at the blades on the turbo and see if they look sand blasted or over polished. but I'm not sure wher they are or how to get at them or even where that are.
do i need and special toot or just a wrench set? greaty apricaiate any hep!!

just pull off the plastic tube running from air box to turbo inlet you then will see the turbo intake blads then you will be able to see if the ends of the blade are rounded off or serverly pitted
you will also notice dust on the inside of plastic intake tube if dust was getting to turbo

Get yourself a 5/16 nut driver and you can pull apart your intake rather quickly, and a flashlight to look down in the turbo.
