gpr

need some advice
ju st got done checking my glowplugs and gpr
i got a voltage drop of 2v across gpr when relay is acuated
is this enought voltage drop to cuase a no start at -12f with out being pluged in (had dino 10w 40w in it )
well anyway just courios i plan on replacing it monday
by the way just changed over to synthetic ( 5w 40w ) how many miles can u go between changes

You're not supposed to get more than about 1.0V drop across the gpr, so yours is at least adding to your problem, if it isn't the whole problem. I don't run synthetic oil, so I'll leave that question for someone that does.

For the synthetic - I personally wouldn't run it any longer than regular oil, unless you get into the oil sample testing thing. I put synthetic 5w-40 in my truck for the winter, and I will change it at the 5000 mile mark just like normal. Just my $.02!
