Yesterday for Christmas I was surprised to get a Lock Right locker for my 86 F-250's 10.25" rear. The axle code on the door is 35, which I investigated and came up with the following info : 6250# rated, 4.10 geared 10.25" with an open carrier. Can anyone verify this? I also have my VIN if needed. Now, It came with instructions that say if you have a C-Clip axle you need to do this and if you don't have a C-Clip axle, you need to do something else. I don't know if mine is a C-Clip or not, but I have heard that if there are big hubs in the back that stick way out then it is a full floater and therefore doesn't have C-clips. Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks. I'm sure I will have many more interesting questions once I begin the install.
Congrats on the new LockRight! . I had one put in my F350's 10.25" rear axle a while back and it has been the greatest thing to have in the truck! I'm sure you will be very pleased with it.
Yes, Code 35 is a 10.25" full-float axle with a 4.10 open diff. The 10.25" can be identified by 12 bolts around the rear cover and no fill plug in the cover and the big hub you talked about does identify it as a full-float axle. Your LockRight will go inside the stock carrier, replacing the spider gears that are in it now. No c-clips on the full-floater axles.
