Idle Control
I have a 97 Ranger with a 3 liter V6 engine and manual transmission with 34K miles. When I go to stop the truck and press in on the clutch the engine will rev up to 3,000 rpms until I come to a complete stop (then it idles back down). This happened earlier this spring and my dealer replaced the idle controller, which fixed the problem. Dealer said probable dust/dirt in the controller. Has anyone else had similar problems and is there something that can be done to keep this from happening every 10K miles? Thanks for your assistance.
