OK guys, after the guessing and hoping, what did you get for Christmas after dropping all those hints to your significant others???
I got a neat 2 book set called Classic Collection, by Publications Interenational: one on pickups (yes, all kinds not just Fords) lots of vintage pics and lots of pics of restored trucks. It has a picture of a neat pre-46 Ford truck (with the oval grile) parked infront of piles of lumber. The other book is a book on tractors. It has a John Deere A on its cover. I think most of us old truck guys also have a liking of old tractors. I recommend it.
I also got (I bouhgt it on ebay and when it came my wife wrapped it) a 60 minute tape on the 53-54 Fords, "last of the Flatheads and First of the Overheads" both cars and trucks. Some pretty neat footage of factory fresh Trucks being tested and used. The only down side is all of th etruck footage is in Black and white.
my major gift was Another 3drawer over 5 drawer tool chest. but they will be split up and the 5 drawer goes under the workbench with the other 4 identical units for storage. the 3 drawer ?? don't know yet... it was free with the purchase of the 5.
also a handsome 6 hp 14 gallon stainless steel shop vac... this mother will suck the paint off if you let it and a nifty little roll around stool for brake jobs and body work and it also doubles as a fine place to pile stuff... but it is movable at that point .
a really nifty cushioned bare metal bar stool for my shop from "swmbo" she just hates it when my feet are tired from standing on that mean on concrete
all and all not a bad Christmas.... I am very fortunate that all those givers didn't find out how naughty I've really been..
i got another 56 effie . no bad rust needs a little slight corner work and a real ifs install. (past owner butchered it and levered an 81 marquis graft with some sort of pipe for shock towers and notched out in the middle of the crossmember for the lower control arms to move freely...needless to say the frame is fixable but i think i will get one truck rooling first before i do something like repairing the frame and undoing the original rear end attempt at a tir 4linkie install, but she run drives (unsafely) and its got a 302 with an aod in it. i will soon be ordering an ifs if i can ever make up my mind of the first truck
i got a steam cleaner from the cook, a 60 f100 from an old fella and a new tig from Lincoln ( because the courier dropped mine on the way back from repairs ) all i need now is a time machine so i can actually have the time to finnish a project or two.

Metal fabbing tools mostly. Sheetmetal brake, bead roller/shear/flanger, powder coating gun. Just Harbor Freight stuff. I won't be knocking out any DIY custom body panels. Haven't had a chance to play with them much. Just a quick test drive and the stuff seems to work well on light sheetmetal. Should be handy.
I realized today I sure bought an awful lot of "some assembly or installation required" gifts for the family. The thrill of looking at an XM satellite radio box quickly subsided, so I spent the day installing momma's tunes. Never thought I could be talked into paying for radio, but it sure has something for everybody, and sounds clearer than FM.
I got a Sacramento Kings beverage dispensor for the garage. It holds 64 cans of my favorite sodas. So now on those hot summer days when I'm working on the Fords, I can have a cold drink without having to track grease into the kitchen. Then for myself, I bought a new set of bits from HF. John
Harbor Freight screwed me out of two gifts. Never arrived........Keeping an eye out for the UPS man and the spot welder, as well as the in line sander. Those guys are so slow (Harbor Freight that is). I probably would have been better off to contact one of you guys that has a store near by, and ship the good straight to me, rather than from the mail/order catalog.
well ive must of been good this year.... i got a b&m ratchet shifter for my c6, and a tach (which was kind hard to fit of the dash). and also some cash from the grandparents, which will pay for my headers and wiring kit... and thats pretty much all i needed to get my f2 on the road!!
I agree with abe, old trucks and old tractors just go good together.
I got a battery charger, some tools, and 2 hours of rental time on an airplane at our local airport.
