Alright guys, i got XM delphi skify2 for Christams from my mother.... my mom is sweet...
Anyway, now i must install...
Has anybody done an nice XM install????
Is there an easy way to remove the headliner to be able to install the antenna. I dont want any wires showing on the outside... So what do i need to do? Drill through the roof of the truck to install the antenna... silicone around it to dry it in and be done????
Where has everybody been mounting the units in the cab????
I just ran my ant wire around the interior panels and the out the cargo / brake light on the back of the cab and it has worked fine there for over a year, I did put a little silicone by the cable coming out from under the light to make sure I didn't have any leaks. And I haven't listened to the regular radio but a few times since I got it.
I did the same as Dagwood. I ran my wire up the piller post and stuffed it along the headliner. I did have to drop the liner down in the back to get the coax out through the brake light. I mounted the modulator on the back of the removable panel below the steering wheel. The head unit itself just sits on the hump with a small backseat floor mat laying on the bottom edge. Holds it fine. When I stop at hotels (I travel constantly) I just pull the mat up over the unit. Out of sight, out of mind. My truck is at the airport in Ar. or I could get ya some pix......XM rocks.......
