86 ranger computer diagnostic
I heard from someone that there may be a way to have the computer in the truck flash a light on the insturment panel to give you trouble codes.
He said something about turning the truck on and off a few times? does anyone have any info on this? if so, how, and what are the codes?
Any info is greatly appriciated..

2.9 liter E.F.I.
5 speed Manual trans (mitsubishi trans)
4x4 power nothing, no AC
approx 170,000 miles

ps.Some Dodge vehicles codes can be retrieved by cycling the ign. key 3 times without starting
