I can wrap pretty good. If I can't get it just right. Thats what duct tape was made for. It's also fun watching them unwrap a duct tape present.
Tom
Dang I thought I was the only one who used go-fast tape on presents!! It's also fun to watch our cat with a piece stuck on a foot.
Oh yeah it's deff a chick thing I don't care what Dennis says, I'm 37 and can field strip and reassemble in minutes any small arms, drive a trank, and blow up things, but I CAN'T WRAP A PRESENT FOR SQUAT!! My wifes gets the biggest kick out of my wrapping skills
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who is gift wrapping challenged...I blame it on the fact that i worked at a butcher shop when i was in H.S. and wrap everything like a pound of ground beef
I can do all of it perfectly...except for judging how much paper I'm going to need. When I was a kid I'd never use enough and pieces of the box would show through. So I guess I overcompensate now because I always end up having to trim off a couple of inches of extra or folding (wadding) the extra up and trying to make it blend in the wrap. I have no idea how it happened...but my mother ended up wrapping most of the presents for me this year.
Do you mean to tell me the bottom of the box is not supposed to show? Who can see it anyhow? And. it makes it a lot easier to open cause you can get a finger under it. 'Properly' wrapped gifts are as hard to open as a new DVD/CD.
That's why the have that wonderful little booth in the mall..
I don't care if it costs me $100 to wrap all my crap, I don't have to do it, and it doesn't look like it was done during an epileptic fit.
This year, I went one better. Went out, did all the shopping. Called the g/f.
"I'm all done, you've gotta come over and wrap all this stuff."
That's why I always try to buy stuff so big that it's reasonable not to wrap it. Bought Dad a 4 in 1 Blower. No wrappin' that sucker. Just "Here, it's your early Christmas present, have fun cleanin' up leaves."
I've gone so far as to staple a checkered tablecloth to a big box. It looked better than it would have if I'd have tried to wrap the darn thing.
I used to do a sharp cornered, three fold, triple cut, make a you mama proud, type wrap. But then after watching my little heathens shred my masterpeices in milliseconds,I decided to use the sausage pattern.Thats right, just wrap it around and tie the ends!
If you do it right, it takes a little while. Sometimes a knife is the only way. I love watching people try to scratch it open. Ha, Ha, Ha err um I mean Ho, Ho, Ho!
