Hey guys, another question for someone to help me with,
I was just cleaning my truck, and I noticed in the cab, it has a light, It says " low range" im trying to figure out when its supposed to be on? is it for four wheel drive, or the transmission, I tried 4 low, nothing and 1st on the tranny, nothing, its got a bulb, but any idears????? Oh by the way 87 f-150, 351w, C6, 4X4. thanks guys, and Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays, whatever you prefer.
The low range light should come on when the TRANSFER case is in low ranger. I am guessing that the sensor in the t-case is crusty... I have the same problem with my '95 but it is the 4x4 light that doesn't work.
hmm, is it one sensor or two?? I didnt think to look at it? maby i can fix it, although its not really a big deal, i mean its pretty abvous, the levers sticking right up in the middle of the floor.
Check your connections before anything else. That light probably sees less use than any other component light in your truck. Even a serious off-roader who drives his truck as an everyday vehicle will use 4 Low only when crawling. At worst the bulb is easy to change. Merry Christmas.
