Hey guys, I just got a 2002 ranger and want to put new speakers and an amp. I was wondering is it ok to use the stock changer that it comes with? I'm not looking for bass, just loud clear music.
Oh also do I need two amps, one for the front speakers and one for the back, or is one amp fine?
While an aftermarket head unit will be much better than the stock one, it is possible to connect an amp to the factory head unit (stock changer as you called it). You will need a line out convertor... http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ytOQB5i...+out+convertor
You can use one 4-channel amp to power all four 6x8" speakers. Check www.crutchfield.com or www.sounddomain.com for a good selection of amps and speakers. Good Luck.

One amp will probably be fine. I had only one amp im my old car and the music was really loud and clear!! Better one good working amp than two bad ones. And yeah I agree, get an aftermarket cd player. They're much better and have more power. If you want to hook up all the speakers and the sub to te amp, get a 5 channel amp (4 speakers plus sub) Just make sure that one channel of the amp is for specific use of the sub! best max
