Since I don't have one I can't give you an answer, but you might try the engine forum for the 4.0. They could probably tell you. Or maybe call your local Ford dealer. If the cops have contacted you, then you must have changed engines. Go back to where you got it and research the problem. Good luck with it.

It's the same engine that it had when I bought the car, I didn't replace it.
The dealers are all out for christmas.
The problem is that it has run out of registration in the state I bought it and I can't register the thing until I find the engine number.
Meanwhile, the cops catch up and say the engine # isn't right.
I think it's going to turn out to be a typo. The frame number matches the engine number on the reg papers except for one digit.
I'll try the engine forum.
