Is there a way to tell which component is bad in my 1986 2.9 Touch Drive 4X4 system. I think my computer inside the dash is bad because it won't click or do anything when I try to engage the 4X4. Is there a way to test this. What's the little white button and the red pilot light for on the computer? Is this a self-test function?

My '86 Bronco II had the touch drive located over the rear view mirror. I found the little plastic "thingies" inside had broken off. I fashioned some replacements and put them in and to actuate the switch and it worked just fine. You might try that approach.

Mind does the same thing and I still have not found out what the problem is.
If you found out can you let me know as it's becoming annoying, snow is not far away and I don't want to spend a fortune having it diagnosed.
