03+ Painted cladding...another option.

Instead of color matching, I painted it gloss black.

Here's a picture of the first part done. Very easy to do and the end result looks spectacular. (from a paint point of view) It's up to you if you like it or not. I know I do.

Thumbs up

About time you showed up here! Was starting to thing you had abandoned us for .

Looks good... guess I was thinking more of a flat black vs the glossy one you used. Still, looks good! I especially like the old V8 emblem.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

I've been here, Neal. Well, actually I had to go to Kauai for a couple of days for a businees meeting & get together. There was light rain most of the time. (Don't you just feel horrible for me!? )

I picked up the flat black first but there was only only one can. There were 4 cans of the gloss. Looking at it first hand, I'm glad I choose the gloss as due to the semi rough surface, it doesn't look too glossy....if that makes any sense...the flat would've looked...welll...flat.

I'll finish it all up later this weekend.

Thanks AF! Nice compliment considering the looks of yours.

Here's the finished product.

I powerwashed everything.
I then rubbed everything down with laquer thinner.
I masked everything off.
Painted.
Smiled.
Removed masking.
Smiled again.

I didn't use adhesion promoter. We'll see in a month of so if I regret omitting that step. The FUSION paint I used said it wasn't necessary.

Hadn't "seen" ya post in a while... working nights now, I'm kind of livin' on your schedule. Guess I was just missing being here when you were online.

I think seeing it in the light (vs the camera flash) makes it look better. It's a subtle change, but you can definitely tell there's something "different" about your Expy. Keep us informed of how it holds up to the sandblasting of paradise.
