ford ranger starter question
starter question
1993 Ford ranger 3.0 v6 stick 5 speed, two wheel drive.
I hit the old starter with a hammer to start the truck and the battery light came on. i just put in a used starter from a junkyard with 39,000 miles and the battery light is still on and right after the truck starts should i be worried about the light still being on?, I have a metal squeeling noise for about 3 seconds and quits. Is it because the starter sat on the shelf so long or will it go away or do i need a new one. any suggestions
