5spd to Automatic
I have a 97 F150 with the 4.6 and a 5 spd. I want to convert it to an automatic but I have not been successfull in finding a list of everything I will need to do this conversion. I am not really interested in finding a wrecked truck to buy to get the parts off of though

My suggestion... go buy another truck!
It just aint worth it. You would have to replace so many things that by the end, if you ever get that far, your wallet would be see through and you would be ready to push the truck off a cliff. No kidding.
So many things would have to be replaced. For example:
Peddle assembly
Steering column
Transmission (duh!)
Computer
Wiring harnesses
Drive shaft
Radiator (transmission cooler)
Cooler lines
Linkages
...
And all of that is assuming that the frames are the same or that it is even possible.
The list goes on. Everything is going to be difficult and expensive. By the time you finished ordering all the parts from a jobber or direct from Ford you could have bought two trucks. So unless you are looking for a retirement project and a legacy for the great grandkids to finish (they won't get any money if you do so why not), learn to live with it (no offence intended) or sell it and buy another truck.
