Question 04 Removal of factory radio

Can someone tell me how to remove the factory radio from my 04 screw? Does the dash just snap loose or what's the easiest way to get the radio out?

TIA,
Andy

No kidding about breaking that surround. Until I realized you could pull it loose from the bottom up, I was prying it off at the top. Bad call. I also scrapped one of the white clips across the faceplate of a brand new Kenwood 225. Nasty gouge. Just stupidity, as I could have removed the faceplate first. I also put two scrapes (small, look like hairs) over the front of plastic aftermarket stereo surround.

I like to use a couple of small hand towels to protect the area when I pull loose the surround.

Thanks guys. One of my buddies told me to pull from the bottom and I tried that, but was putting some force on it and decided I would ask. I figured he might have been wrong so just wanted to make sure. They didn't make it easy to pull that part of the dash, that's for sure as those clips hold on good.

Yeah, Andy, I've 'made blood sacrifice' to a couple of those white clips. Be sure they are all back on the surround before remounting, as they won't go on correctly when they are stuck in the dash. Funny thing, after the first time, they never came loose with the surround again.
