Are you noticing it as movment in the steering wheel, or does it feel like it's in the seat? You may have a bad alignment, bad tire, bad rim. It could also be a problem in the torque converter. It sound like you may be experiencing tourqe converter shudder. What is it? E150, 250, 350, what year, what engine. That helps alot.

If it is torque converter shudder, it can be fixed with a good tranny flush and some addititive. That fixed mine in my 95 E150 and I was quite pleased it wasn't something more serious. The shudder I felt was like you were running over some of those mild rumble strips on the side of the road, and it came and went at various speeds. My mechanic said in about 90% of the cases, the flush and additive take care of it. It's been about 3 years and at least 30,000 miles and it has never come back. Van now has 159,000 miles.
