Debit cards

Do any of you regularly use your debit card for purchases, or do you just get the money out of the ATM and pay cash?

I use mine all the time and keep $20.00 - $40.00 in my wallet usually, just in case.

Now, how about paying bills online? I haven't bought stamps in a few years, everything is paid online through my bank; even car insurance.

I've always used my debit card for everything. Starting to get away from debit and using the Discover card instead. Tired of having to take out all the debits from the checkbook. Easier to make one payment.

I use my debit card sometimes. Mostly use cash. I don't make BIG purchases too often so I don' really carry a lot of cash around.

But, I pay ALL of my bills through online banking.

I can only pay bills with checks anymore, so I make all purchases with either cash or debit card.

I have paid my bills with a telephone service since 1979. I can do it online also but the wife is used to punching in a few numbers with the telephone service. There is no debit card on that account tho just in case someone ripped it off with my PIN number. If some card reader makes a mistake and charges something to my account my bank would be responsible for the error. That CAN and does happen!!! My kids use debit cards on small accounts where they keep their "spending money" they earn. I use a couple of credit cards for purchases and pay them off every month. Never let a balance go! I carry a small amount of cash for purchases also and only use the ATM at the bank with my bank card (not a debit card). I did use a public ATM once, saw the charge, and never did it again.

The banks keep giving me debit cards and I never activate them. I use my ATM and credit card all the time. If someone stole my debit card they would have access to my checking account without the protection of the credit card or the security of the ATM. I had my wallet stolen and the guys stole over $40,000 worth of stuff using my name. I'm only out a lot of time, because I didn't have a debit. With it, they could have easily cleaned out my account.

My ATM card acts as a debit card too. I use it for 90% of my transactions.

I always use my debit card. Especially for gas, since I can swipe the card, start it filling, and then drive away when I am done. I hate waiting in lines at the gas station. lol My bank also lets me use the ATM 4 times in a month, without charging me for the service charge. So if I use a TCF ATM, they will cover the service charge for me. Its a really nice thing my bank does.

Debit Cards I always use for about 95% of purchases.

I stay far far away from credit cards.

I use my debit card all the time. In fact, if it wasn't for my drivers license and pictures of the kids, I wouldn't need a wallet!
